FirstPealAsConductorThe Public Relations Committee of the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers has put together the following website.

During 2015 the amazing number of 387 people achieved their first peal well exceeding the challenged target of 300 to mark the 300th Anniversary of the first recorded peal rung in Norwich. This year sees the 125th Anniversary of the first meeting of the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers, perhaps not so glamorous but also significant in the history of organised ringing.

The challenge is set for 125 new “first as conductor”, a smaller figure but much more difficult for the individual to achieve. The target does, however, only represent 2 per Association so should be manageable with encouragement and help from the experienced members.
